Wreaths Across America began in 1992 with a trailer load of wreaths decorated by volunteers, with the intention of putting a wreath on every headstone at Arlington National Cemetery. Now a national organization with over 900 participating locations across the country, Wreaths Across America focuses on the mission to “to remember our fallen veterans , Honor those who have served, and teach our children the value of freedom.”

Buchheit Logistics first began its journey with Wreaths Across America in 2015 with a single trailer. A second trailer was added in 2016. This year, Buccheit Logistics embarked on its third consecutive journey to support the Wreaths Across America Program. The Logistics team delivered wreaths to 4 national cemeteries throughout the region, two of them on the day of the ceremony, held to honor our fallen heroes.

Two drivers participated in the mission to deliver over 6,000 wreaths, for the Buchheit team, with co-sponsors Missouri Great Dane and Cline Wood, a Marsh & McLennan Agency, this was a mission of pride, honor and gratitude to our country and all who served.

On Monday, December 4th, Buchheit Logistics driver Robert Fudge, a Marine veteran who participated in multiple pacific cruises and multiple amphibious training assaults, during his service, headed to Maine to pick up a load of wreaths for the region. Robert, born and raised in Salem, Missouri, has been on the Buchheit team since 2002.
Team Member Don Johnson, a US army Veteran, who was an M60 gunner assigned to the All American 82nd Airborne Division also made the journey for those fallen heroes of our great country. When Don heard of Buchheit Logistics’ involvement with Wreaths Across America he was inspired to get involved, and seized the opportunity to serve.
Deliveries were made on December 13th, 14th and 16th , most with police escorts. The American Legion Riders and Patriot Guard Riders joined the Honor Fleet as the two Logistics drivers made their journey for fallen heroes.
Wreaths were laid by volunteers all across America on December 16, 2017, National Wreaths Across America Day. At 11 a.m., ceremonies were held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield and the national cemetery in Mound City, Illinois, where the Buchheit Logistics team proudly showed their support.

Buchhiet logistics traveled millions of miles in 2017, but no journey could compare to the 3,000 miles traveled to Columbia falls Maine for wreaths across America. It was a journey of
What makes this journey so significant? It was a journey dedicated to all of the men and women who served our great country… those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
